Imma Tuccillo Castaldo is a freelance photographer . She presents here abstract naturalism, geological photos in which color and shapes express the art of nature. This is a series of photos of the hot springs in Furnas, geosite of São Miguel island in the Azores, mentioned by the Omic - Microbial Observatory of Azores - in the photo contest Biodiversity of the Thermal Springs.

Roma caput mundi and Babelyulin are respectively the first and the second chapter of a travel journal that looks like photographic project. The title is Flâneur in the 21st century and in this work the city is investigated: the city as a privileged place where human lives and history weave complex relationships creating the controversial ideas of culture and its reflected aberrations, and the city as a reminiscent concept of humankind seeking redemption of its finitude through urbanitation and technological civilization. In this context, nature is bounded, controlled, decorative and yet it is able to establish itself as a need and even more as a mandatory necessity in recent years.

The journey begins playing on the constant tension between the secular powers and temporal powers: the monumentality of Rome is confronted with the monumentality of Lyulin, residential suburb of Sofia, built in the 70s during the communist regime. The author describes the look of Walter Benjamin’s flâneur, the modern viewer who embodies the alienation of the city in single shots those are actually multi exposures from a minimum of three to a maximum of ten photos in a single frame, without photo montage in post processing, to decompose the mood of the city and reassemble it in the art as a tool of critical consciousness.
